Dr. Beckenhauer is known by almost all of her patients as "Dr. B."
She grew up in a small, rural Nebraska town called Ashland, just 45 min away from her primary practice location in Blair, NE. She lived in Kansas City from 2004-2008, while she completed her Osteopathic medical degree at KCUMB.
She then moved to Lincoln, NE to finish three years of Family Medicine Residency from 2008-2011. In July of 2011, she moved to Blair with her family to begin employment at MCH & Health System as a Rural Family Medicine Physician. Dr. B began her "Physician path" just as she had dreamed of while in medical school, full scope Family Medicine. She cared for individuals from newborn to geriatric, ER or Clinic setting, Prenatal Care or Deliveries, Cesarean sections or Vaginal, Procedures in the OR and in the Minor Procedures room. You name it, and she was not only present, but also prepared, to fulfill her duties that she trained so many years for. She continues to carry out her Rural Physician calling, and has earned new titles and roles over the years as well. She has a PASSION for life-long learning, and promoting health and wellness for ALL. With her Osteopathic Medicine background, whole person healthcare resonates with her. It also drives her passion for Integrative Wellness, Regenerative Medicine, and Hormonal Balance. To further her studies, she has completed courses for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Over the years as a Rural Family Physician, she has served as the Medical Director of the MCH Emergency Room & the Blair Clinic, as well as Medical Staff President. She is a Board Member of the Direct Primary Care Alliance and the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Beckenhauer enjoys teaching Family Practice Residents in her spare time, and has served as Faculty of Nebraska Medicine: Clarkson Family Medicine Program.
Dr. B is honored to be the only woman amongst a household of men (obviously she gets the "Princess" treatment this way). She is married to Jeremy, and together they raise four energetic boys by the names of Jackson, Tucker, Hank, & Rex.
Dr. B believes that everyone deserves healthcare, and she was overwhelmed with the amount of her very own patients that neglected their medical appointments due to cost and rising insurance premiums. Direct Primary care was her way of incorporating affordable, whole-person healthcare, under one roof and keeping patients FIRST. It allows her to have time with her patients and be a strong patient advocate. Each patient will benefit from her unique, personalized care! She is looking forward to bringing the community together through the promotion of health and wellness by offering community events, such as classes for DPC members and non-members, as well as working side by side with the local facilities/businesses to put healthcare first in our county and surrounding counties.
Dr. Beckenhauer truly believes that everyone can achieve what they put their mind to, and if healthcare is affordable, being a Healthy Human is just one more possibility within your grasp!

Matt Garris, Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), is yet another "small town, born & raised, Healthy Human." Matt grew up in Humboldt, NE, with a population of just over 800 residents. He comes to the Healthy Human with years of experience in Family Medicine. He started his Family Practice career at MCH & Health Systems in Blair, NE. For years, he practiced in a small rural setting in Fort Calhoun, NE, where he was appreciated AND respected for his caring bedside manner and the ability to make many feel at ease, despite medical concerns at hand. He also has training in the Emergency Room, as well as Urgent Care.
After leaving Blair/Fort Calhoun, he spent the next few years in Omaha, NE where he was employed at a private practice. He used this time to continue building relationships with his patients, and he also received education in Hormone Therapy. He has a passion for restoring patients health and hormones, with a focus on Pellet Therapy in both Men & Women.
He is married to Erica, and they have a daughter, Chanler. Matt & Erica are "Jeep Lovers," which makes them a great fit at the HH. As Dr. Beckenhauer and her family share a fondness for the sporty vehicles as well!
Misty Larson, LPN, raised in Blair, Nebraska since the age of 7, Misty’s love for taking care of people lead her down a path that she was destined for...becoming a nurse. She is a 2010 graduate from College of Saint Mary’s with 15+ years experience as a healthcare advocate. She has provided EXCEPTIONAL care to patients as an LPN for 10 years.
Misty currently serves patients at the HH in both Ashland and Blair. Her patients appreciate her dedication, as well as her tender heart, and for that she is grateful.
When not working, she is spending time with her busy family, which includes her husband David, daughters Ciera, Audree, Mya, & only son, Devin.
Josephine Pauley, LPN, raised in Missouri Valley, Iowa and continues to reside on the "Iowa" side. The HH considers her a "Nebraskan" after working at the HH since 2019. Prior to 2019, she has family practice clinic experience at the CHI clinic in IA, as well as the local hospital/clinic working alongside Dr. Beckenhauer and Matt as a Medical Assistant. While working at the HH, she continued to advance her medical knowledge and medical skills, which kindled a motivational drive for "more" within her role and skillset. She enrolled into an LPN program, and left the HH Family for a short time. After schooling was complete, she returned to the Healthy Human in 2022. Upon her return, she settled into an HH Triage Nurse, as well as an Administrative role to assist Dr. Beckenhauer in the back office. Josie is a hard worker with a smile on her face DAILY. She has a positive mindset, and lets little "ruffle her feathers"...as she is great at working through tough phone calls, being mindful of each patient and what they may be going through.
Outside of clinic work, she is spending time with her family, which includes her significant other Josh, and her daughter, Avery, & son, Holden.
Carol Ulrich, RN, born & raised in a small town Nebraska town named Brunswick, is also considered a "transplant" to Blair. However, she has made it her "forever home" with inspiring positions within the community. She has experience as the Blair Community Schools Nurse, as well as working alongside Dr. B & Matt at the local hospital/clinic as a Family Practice RN. Carol was looking for a change in her "day-to-day" and the Healthy Human was just the right fit for her. She has a heart for nursing and loved to build long lasting relationships with our patients at all 3 locations. You can find Carol at our Ashland location on Tuesdays, and also the DPC and HH MedAesthetics building the other days of the week.
Carol enjoys her time with her family...Nolan, Josie, and Gavin, as well as her husband, Tom. They are all very active in sports and college activities. Carol can always find the time that is needed for her family, her TOP priority.
Whitney Mlnarik, RN, is Blair Bear through and through. She was raised locally, and graduated from Blair. She then attended College of Saint Mary for her Nursing degree. She has worked in town at the hospital with Dr. B, & side-by-side with Matt in Fort Calhoun for years prior to making a few other job "stops" along the way to the Healthy Human. She has experience as an RN at nursing homes, assisted living, and also at Methodist in Oncology. She has been an Infusion & Specialty Care nurse, before her stop at the HH in 2021. Whitney is a perfect fit for the HH, as she performs the bulk of the nursing appointments at the HH DPC. Occasionally, you will also find her at the HH Med clinic as well. She is highly applauded for her knowledge, efficiency, and also professionalism with the patients and her team.
Whitney loves being outdoors, and she also loves coaching teams for her kids. She has Reece and Dax, which are "go-getters" like their mother. She is always running at home and the HH, as she is a busy mama. Her husband, Marcus, is right alongside her in this busy day-to-day they call "life."
Brooke Craig, Medical Admin Assistant & HH Market Manager, raised in the same small Nebraska town as Dr. B, Ashland, NE. She is also a long-time friend of hers as well, actually, her best friend since the 6th grade. She came to work at the HH in 2020, as a receptionist, and has worked her way into many new roles at the HH. She can be found answering phones, stocking shelves and taking inventory, assisting the nursing staff or the Providers, as well as operating and managing the HH Market. She can do all of this and then some! We do not know what we would do without Brooke! She has a background in Customer Service, Managing Retail and Food Services, and much more. But she has truly found her home, when she began at the Healthy Human, and we could not be happier.
When Brooke is not jumping around to all 3 HH locations, she is spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Doug, and her 3 children. Her oldest is Cooper, and her two daughters follow, Olivia & Kaia. They reside in Ashland, and love being part of a small, yet thriving, community.
Mindy Bosanek, Family Nurse Practitioner & HH Aesthetics Injector, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE in 2010. She attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE for her undergraduate studies, as well as her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.
Mindy has experience in Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Urgent Care, Surgical Specialties, and Aesthetics. She has also attended a mission trip at the ILLAC Center in the Dominican Republic for dermatology.
“I'm excited to form lasting relationships with individuals and families in my community, and help them maintain health throughout their life,” Bosanek says. We are delighted to have her expertise and charisma added to our HH team. She will focus on providing Aesthetics at both the Blair and Ashland clinics, as well as occasional Family Medicine needs as they arise.
Mindy lives in Blair with her husband, Ted. They are the proud parents of 4 children, whom include Tayler, Hayen, Easton, & Elinn.
Kristie Nichols, Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach, joined the Healthy Human Team to help promote fitness & nutritious eating for the HH patients, as well as the surrounding communities. She has a PASSION for personal training. She has brought home her fair share of medals & awards from training competitions and figure divisions. She focuses on challenges with the belief that "Mindset is Everything."
Not long into her training journey, she realized that to succeed in her training career....understanding the body & falling in love with nutrition would became a "natural" relationship. She has found that teaching others about the aspects of fitness and food is something that makes her a "happy, healthy human." She is excited to engage with the Healthy Human and what it has to offer. Her "fitness and food" focus at the Healthy Human will be alongside Dr. Beckenhauer in the Healthy Human Protocol: HH Thrive, as well as individualized nutrition & fitness sessions outside of the HH Protocol for members and non-members.
WHY DIRECT PRIMARY CARE (DPC)?
Doctors are Frustrated. Patients are frustrated.
Direct Primary Care is a new practice model which allows patients to have a direct relationship with their healthcare provider, which does not involve insurance companies. We accept all patients with private insurance plans, but we do not BILL insurance for our medical visits/services. If you have government insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, please see our tab that discusses this further. In this alternative payment model, patients pay a monthly membership fee and the Physician/Healthcare Team provide the professional service.
You have a direct relationship with your healthcare provider!
We can spend more time with each patient. In traditional practices, physicians can have patient panels anywhere from 2000 to 4000 patients. In DPC, we keep our patient panel lower at anywhere from 600 to 1000 patients to offer more one-on-one care. Included in the monthly fee, patients have easy access to their provider and staff via phone, email, video chat and in-person visits. There are NO visit co-pays and many in office tests ARE included in the membership!
Labs are offered at deep discounts when compared to insurance-based prices, and procedures are AFFORDABLE at $60/procedure. In addition to providing accessible, quality health care,
Direct Primary Care offices often have medication dispensaries on site
to save you more "healthcare dollars."
The best part of all...the prices are transparent! (which means YOU know all the costs up front, no more bills 1..3..6 months later that can range from $300-900+)

Dr. Beckenhauer has privileges to deliver and care for you at MCH&HS (Blair). She can deliver you vaginally or by Cesarean Section at this locations.
We provide personalized pediatric care that your child deserves. As healthcare providers, and even more importantly as parents, we want easy access for medical care when our loved ones are ill. At the Healthy Human, you are able to reach us easily to address your needs.
We get it, being healthy does't come overnight! We also understand that losing weight cannot happen unless our bodies are in BALANCE. We also carry Physician prescribed supplements and the Revision, as well as OBAGI, Skincare line to help you achieve your health and beauty goals as well!
If you currently have an illness and would need IV fluids, we are here to help you get back on your feet again as quick as possible. Dr. Beckenhauer has trained in an Emergency Room setting, and she understands the fees and wait time. Just call/email/text us, we will have you come in and determine if it is appropriate for you to receive them at our clinic.
